Meet Michelle​

Michelle Mosby, the first African American woman to lead Richmond's City Council, is running for Mayor of Richmond, Virginia. Her proven track record includes delivering budget surpluses, improving the city's bond rating, and spearheading transformative projects like new schools, riverfront investments, and bus rapid transit. Michelle is also an accomplished entrepreneur and founder of the Help Me Help You Foundation, dedicated to supporting citizens' successful reentry into the workforce after incarceration. She has served as the former 2nd Vice Chair of the Richmond City Democratic Committee.  Michelle is currently a member of the National Association of Realtors, and also serves as a member of the Richmond NAACP. As president of council Michelle served as a member of the Richmond City Audit Committee. Michelle has been diligent in her service as she has served as a member of the Richmond City Social Services Advisory Board and as a former member of Richmond City Community Criminal Justice Board(CCJB) appointed by former Governor Terry McAuliffe.  Michelle served as the former chair of the Richmond City Career Technical Education (CTE) Board, she served as the former Vice Chair of the Richmond City Education and Human Services committee, and the former member of the Richmond City Alternatives to Incarceration Board. Michelle is a mother, trailblazer, leader and visionary and she is committed to changing Richmonds Narratives.
